The Society for the History of Technology, or SHOT, is the primary professional society for historians of technology. Founded in 1958, its flagship publication is the journal Technology and Culture. The history of technology is traditionally linked to both economic history and history of science, and SHOT is considered an interdisciplinary group. In 2005, after a lengthy hiatus, SHOT resumed the tradition of holding its annual meeting in conjunction with the History of Science Society (HSS); this had been done once every several years as HSS rotates it's meetings with other organizations such as the Society for Social Studies of Science (4S) and the Philosophy of Science Association (PSA).

Shot (hiszp. chupito) - sposób przyrządzania i podawania  koktajlu alkoholowego. Shot ma objętość do 50 ml. Napoje tego typu są mocniejsze od long drinków gdyż składnikiami są zazwyczaj alkohole o wysokiej procentowej ich zawartości, a sporządzamy je bez składników rozcieńczających. Składniki bezalkoholowe dodajemy w małych ilościach. Shot serwuje się w kieliszku do wódki. Shot pije się zwykle na raz.

La capacità in volume (comunque variabile) è aprossimativamanete da 1 a 3 once. Viene tipicamente utilizzato per bere distillati in un "solo colpo" (one shot).Il bicchiere con vetro spesso è nato negli Stati Uniti durante il Proibizionismo e invece la definizione Shot glass o Shotglass è apparso negli anni 40.Il Jigger o pony è il nome per un contenitore di metallo utilizzato per misurare o bere una quantità standard di liquore. Le distillerie americane hanno distribuito i bicchieri più sottili per il whisky con delle pubblicità, tra l'inizio del XIX secolo e l'inizio del Proibizionismo. Sono decorati con molte immagini divertenti al punto di diventare oggetti di molte raccolte da collezionismo.

Shot es el título de una canción de la banda finlandesa de rock The Rasmus, originalmente lanzada en el sexto álbum de estudio de la banda Hide from the Sun. Después se lanzó como un sencillo el 30 de marzo de 2006.Desde que la banda ha comenzado a trabajar en su séptimo álbum de estudio, este es el sencillo más reciente que han lanzado. Después se lanzó un videoclip del tema Immortal, pero no se lanzó ningún sencillo del tema.
