Shang Dynasty

The Shang Dynasty (Chinese: ) or Yin Dynasty () (ca. 1750 BC - ca. 1045 BC) is the second historic Chinese dynasty and ruled in the northeastern region of the area known as "China proper", in the Yellow River valley. The Shāng Dynasty followed the quasi-legendary Xià Dynasty and preceded the Zhōu Dynasty. Information about the Shang Dynasty comes from historical records of the Zhou Dynasty, the Han Dynasty Shiji by Sima Qian and from Shang inscriptions on bronze artifacts and oracle bones—turtle shells, cattle scapula or other bones on which were written the first significant corpus of recorded Chinese characters. The oracle bone inscriptions, which date to the latter half of the dynasty, typically recorded the date in the Sexagenary cycle of the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, followed by the name of the diviner and the topic being divined about. An interpretation of the answer (prognostication) and whether the divination later proved correct were sometimes also added. Present-day Chinese culture can be tracked to this early dynasty.

La dynastie Shang, en chinois 商朝 (de -1767 à -1122 selon la chronologie traditionnelle, ou de -1570 à -1045 selon la sinologie moderne). Elle suit la dynastie Xia et précéde celle de Zhou. Cette période correspond à l’âge du bronze en Chine et marque une transition entre l’histoire légendaire et les faits archéologiques. C’est en effet la première dynastie qui ait laissé des témoignages écrits et dont l'existence soit par conséquent prouvée. Ces témoignages ne proviennent toutefois que de ses derniers souverains, à partir de Wu Ding.

Die Shang-Dynastie (chin.: 商朝, shāng cháo) war die zweite Dynastie in der chinesischen Geschichte. Sie regierte China zwischen dem 16. Jahrhundert v. Chr. bis etwa zum 11. Jahrhundert v. Chr. Sie folgte der in ihrer Existenz umstrittenen Xia-Dynastie und wurde von der Zhou-Dynastie abgelöst. Die Shang-Dynastie ist die erste chinesische Dynastie, die zeitgenössische schriftliche Dokumente hinterlassen hat. Besonders die spätere Periode der Shang-Dynastie, die Yin-Zeit (殷), ist mittlerweile sehr gut untersucht. Insgesamt sind Namen von 30 Königen aus 17 Generationen überliefert. Alle diese Namen wurden auch auf den Orakelknochen aus Yinxu wiedergefunden, so dass die meisten Historiker davon ausgehen, dass die Könige auch tatsächlich gelebt haben.

Dynastia Shang lub Yin – pierwsza historycznie potwierdzona dynastia panująca w  Chinach, która panowała na północnym wschodzie Chin właściwych w dolinie Rzeki Żółtej od 1766 p.n.e. do 1122 lub 1027 p.n.e.. Była następczynią na wpół legendarnej dynastii Xia i poprzedzała dynastię Zhou. Z czasów dynastii Shang pochodzą odkrywane od końca XIX w. inskrypcje na rytualnych naczyniach z brązu oraz wróżebne inskrypcje na zwierzęcych kościach lub skorupach żółwich. Zaczęto także stosować kalendarz księżycowy - 12 miesięcy po 29 lub 31 dni, co 12 lat rok przestępny z 13 miesiącami. Dni i lata naznaczano za pomocą systemu 12 "ziemskich gałęzi" i 10 "niebiańskich pni".

La dinastia Shang (cinese:商朝) o dinastia Yin (殷代) (ca. 1600 a.C. - ca. 1046 a.C.) è la seconda dinastia cinese storica, che regnò sulla Cina nordorientale della Cina, nella valle del Fiume Giallo. La dinastia Shang seguì la semi-mitica  dinastia Xià e precedette la dinastia Zhōu. Le informazioni sulla dinastia Shang provengono dai resoconti della tarda dinastia Zhou, della dinastia Han, Shiji di Sima Qian e dalle iscrizioni Shang su manufatti di bronzo e sugli ossi oracolari usati per la scapulomanzia, gusci di tartaruga, scapole o altre ossa di animali sulle quali si fu rinvenuto il primo significativo corpus di caratteri cinesi scritti. Le iscrizioni sugli ossi, che datano alla seconda metà della dinastia, riportavano la data, il nome dell'indovino e l'argomento della divinazione; talvolta era anche annotata l'interpretazione della risposta e il risultato del pronostico. Da queste divinazioni si possono trarre molte informazioni sulla politica, l'economia, la cultura, la religione e le conoscenze scientifiche dell'epoca.
