The Shabak ( ) an acronym of Sherut Bitahon Klali שירות ביטחון כללי), also known as the Shin Bet, is Israel's internal security service, the Israeli equivalent of the FBI. Its motto is "מגן ולא יראה," which translates into: "Defender (Shield) who shall not be seen". It is one of three principal organizations of the Israeli Intelligence Community, alongside Aman (the military intelligence of the IDF) and Mossad (responsible for overseas intelligence work).
