Server farm
A server farm or server cluster is a collection of computer servers usually maintained by an enterprise to accomplish server needs far beyond the capability of one machine. Server farms often have backup servers, which can take over the function of primary servers in the event of a primary server failure. Server farms are typically colocated with the network switches and/or routers which enable communication between the different parts of the cluster and the users of the cluster. The computers, routers, power supplies, and related electronics are typically mounted on 19-inch racks in a server room or data center.

Serverfarm
Eine Serverfarm ist eine Gruppe von gleichartigen, vernetzten Server-Hosts, die zu einem logischen System verbunden sind. Sie optimiert die internen Prozesse durch Verteilung der Auslastung zwischen den einzelnen Servern und beschleunigt die Computerprozesse durch Ausnutzung der Kraft mehrerer Server. Eine Serverfarm benutzt für die Lastverteilung eine entsprechende Software.

Server farm
Server Farm (letteralmente Fattoria di Server) è un termine inglese utilizzato in informatica per indicare una serie di server collocati in un ambiente unico in modo da poterne centralizzare la gestione, la manutenzione e la sicurezza. Spesso, all'interno delle server farm, vengono costituiti dei sistemi cluster per gestire in maniera migliore carichi di lavoro pesanti o critici (server email, web, database, rendering, GRID...).

Torre de servidores
Una "EL LLOBO" torre de servidores es un grupo de servidores, normalmente mantenidos por una empresa o universidad para ejecutar tareas que van más allá de la capacidad de una sola máquina corriente, como alternativa, generalmente más económica, a un superordenador.
También hace posible la distribución de tareas, de forma que el sistema gana cierta tolerancia a fallos, ya que si uno de los servidores se estropea, el sistema continúa trabajando, notando únicamente una pérdida de rendimiento.
El término usado en inglés es server farm y también podrá encontrarlo con su traducción literal: granja de servidores.

חוות שרתים
חוות שרתים היא אוסף של שרתים המיועדים לבצע משימות שנמצאות מעבר ליכולתו של שרת יחיד. חוות מחשבים מתוכננת לרוב כאשכול מחשבים, או מספר אשכולות, ומאובזרות גם במתגים ונתבים לניתוב התקשורת. מחשבי על מודרניים רבים מורכבים מחוות שרתים ענקיות המורכבות ממעבדים מהירים המחוברים באמצעי תקשורת כאלה. שימוש נפוץ של חוות שרתים הוא לשם אחזקת אתרי אינטרנט או שירות אירוח אתרים.
השימוש בחוות מחשבים נעשה נפוץ יותר ויותר על ידי עסקים גדולים, במקום או לצד מחשבים מרכזיים. בגלל הכמות האדירה של שרתים בחוות, תקלה בשרת בודד היא אירוע תכוף, וניהול חוות שרתים מוכרח לקחת זאת בחשבון. דרכי התמודדות עם תקלות מסוג זה מגוונות וכוללות גם הכנה מראש בשיטות כמו כפילות, אישכול וגמישות בהגדרות המחשבים. לעתים קרובות בחוות שרתים יוקצו לאותה משימה שני שרתים, עיקרי וגיבוי, כך שבמקרה של תקלה באחד מהם השירות לא יופסק.
גודלן ויכולותיהן של חוות השרתים מוגבל לרוב על ידי ביצועי מערכת הקירור שלהן או אספקת החשמל ולא על ידי עוצמת החישוב או מאפייני המחשבים המצויים בחווה. מסיבה זאת מודדים לעתים את ביצועי המערכות המצויות בחוות שרתים על ידי ביצועים ליחידת הספק ולא ביצועים למעבד.
