Septuaginta

The Septuagint , or simply "LXX", is the name commonly given in the West to the Koine Greek version of the Old Testament, translated in stages between the 3rd and 1st centuries BCE in Alexandria. It is the oldest of several ancient translations of the Hebrew Bible into Greek. The word "septuaginta" means "seventy" in Latin and derives from a tradition that seventy-two Jewish scholars (seventy being the nearest round number) translated the Pentateuch (or Torah) from Hebrew into Greek for one of the Ptolemaic kings, Ptolemy II Philadelphus, 285–246 BCE.

La Septante (LXX, latin : Septuaginta) est une version du Tanakh (Bible hébraïque) en langue grecque. Selon une légende rapportée dans la Lettre du pseudo-Aristée, document sans authenticité historique, la traduction de la Torah aurait été réalisée par 72 (Septante-deux) traducteurs à Alexandrie, vers 270 av. J.-C., pour les Juifs qui y étaient alors relativement nombreux, à la demande de Ptolémée II. Une légende postérieure veut que ces 72 érudits aient tous traduit séparément l'intégralité du texte, et qu'au moment de comparer leurs travaux, on se soit aperçu avec émerveillement que les 72 traductions étaient identiques.

Septuaginta (łac. siedemdziesiąt; oznaczana też rzymską liczbą LXX oznaczającą 70), to pierwsze tłumaczenie Biblii hebrajskiej na grekę. Nazwa pochodzi od liczby tłumaczy, którzy mieli brać udział w pracach nad przekładem.

La versione dei Settanta (Septuaginta in latino, abbreviata LXX o con la lettera greca sigma s) è una versione della Bibbia in lingua greca, che la tradizione vuole tradotta dall'ebraico da 70 saggi ad Alessandria d'Egitto, dove esisteva una importante comunità ebraica. Unitamente al Nuovo Testamento greco, costituisce la versione di riferimento per le chiese ortodosse orientali di tradizione greca.
