Sega 32X
The Sega 32X, codenamed Project Mars, is an add-on for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis video game console. Its aim was to increase the lifespan of the aging Mega Drive/Genesis system, which was facing increasingly stiff competition from the SNES. While connecting it to Mega Drive did increase its capabilities, reluctance to adapt due to the previous failure of the Mega-CD and the upcoming Sega Saturn system led to low sales and a short lifespan.

Sega 32X
Das 32X (jap. , Supa 32X) von Sega ist eine 1994 entwickelte Hardwareerweiterung für die Videospielkonsole Sega Mega Drive, die aus dem eigentlich 16-bittigen ein 32-Bit-Gerät machen sollte. Da die Entwicklung einer Hau-Ruck-Aktion glich, in das Marketing nur wenig investiert wurde und die (technisch überlegenen) „Next-Generation“-Konsolen Sony PlayStation sowie der Sega Saturn aus dem eigenen Haus 1995 bereits in den Startlöchern standen, wurde das 32X zu einem der größten Misserfolge Segas. Für einige Videospielfreunde ist das 32X dadurch schon wieder zum Sammlerstück geworden, insbesondere da für die Konsole nur wenige Spiele veröffentlicht wurden.

32X
Le 32X est une extension de la Megadrive de Sega permettant d'augmenter la puissance de cette dernière en la transformant en un système 32 bits. Il se branche dans le port cartouche de la Megadrive. Lorsqu'il est utilisé, le 32X devient maître de la Megadrive et augmente ses capacités de calcul, lui permettant de gérér de nouveaux effets graphiques telle que de la 3D mappée.

Sega 32X , är ett tillbehör till Sega Mega Drive . I Japan kallades den Sega Super 32X, i USA Sega Genesis 32X och i Europa Sega Mega Drive 32X.

Sega Mega Drive 32X
IN Giappone venne distribuito come Sega Super 32X. Nel Nord America venne chiamato Sega Genesis 32X. In Europa, Australia e negli altri stati utilizzanti lo standard PAL l'espansione venne chiamata Sega Mega Drive 32X, sebbene spesso per semplicità si preferiva chiamarlo 32X.
Con il rilascio del Super Famicon in Giappone e del Super Nintendo nel resto del mondo la SEGA si trovava tecnologicamente superata dalla Nintendo. Il Sega Mega CD non era una valida alternativa alla consolle Nintendo e infatti non ebbe il successo sperato. SEGA sviluppo diverse tecnologie in contemporanea per poter competere con la Nintendo, i singoli progetti avevano i nome dei pianeti del sistema solare, alcuni erano ancora basati sull'architettura alla base del Mega Drive mentre altri erano basati sulle macchine da sala giochi prodotte da SEGA,
