Seattle SuperSonics

The Seattle SuperSonics (or simply Sonics) are an American professional basketball team based in Seattle, Washington. They play in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Their mascot's name is Squatch. Of the three current major professional sports teams in Seattle—the  Seattle Mariners, the Seattle Seahawks, and the Sonics—the Sonics are the only one to have won a championship (1979). (The Sonics' sister team, the WNBA's Seattle Storm also won one in 2004, and the Seattle Metropolitans became the first U.S. team to win the Stanley Cup in 1917).

Die Seattle SuperSonics (oder vereinfacht Sonics) ist eine Basketball-Mannschaft aus der US-amerikanischen Basketballliga NBA. Die Mannschaft ist in Seattle, Washington beheimatet. Im NBA Draft 2007 konnten sich die Sonics den College Spieler des Jahres 2007 Kevin Durant angeln und viele gehen davon aus das mit Durant nun glohreiche Zeiten in Seattle beginnen. Zudem sicherten sich die Sonics durch einen Trade mit Boston ebenfalls den 5ten Pick, und damit mit Jeff Green einen weiteren sehr talentierten Spieler.

Seattle SuperSonics – klub NBA z Seattle w stanie Waszyngton istniejący od 1967 r. Od czerwca 2006 r. właścicielem klubu jest biznesmen z Oklahoma City – Clay Bennet. Sonics zdobyli jeden raz w swej historii tytuł Mistrza NBA, w 1979 r., zwyciężając w finale Washington Bullets. Najsłynniejszym zawodnikiem mistrzowskiej drużyny był Dennis Johnson, wybrany MVP finałów. Wcześniej, w 1978 r., drużyna pierwszy raz w swojej historii zagrała w finale ligi, przegrywając także z Washington Bullets. W 1996 r., Sonics, prowadzeni przez Gary Paytona, z Shawnem Kempem, Detlefem Schrempfem i Samem Perkinsem w składzie, zanotowali trzeci występ w finale, przegrywając z powracającymi na tron mistrzowski Chicago Bulls.
