The Scorpions are a rock band from Hannover, Germany formed in 1965 by guitarist Rudolf Schenker, who is the band's only constant member. They are known for their 1980s rock anthem "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and many singles, such as "No One Like You", "Send Me an Angel", "Still Loving You", and "Wind of Change". The band was ranked #46 on VH1's Greatest Artists of Hard Rock program. "Rock You Like a Hurricane" is also #18 on VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs. On January 24, 2010, after 46 years of performing, the band announced that they will be retiring after touring in support of their new album Sting in the Tail. The band sold over 100 million albums worldwide.

Scorpions est un groupe de hard rock, originaire de Hanovre (Allemagne). Leur premier album a vu le jour en 1972. Le groupe a connu un prestige planétaire - surtout à partir des années 1980 - en raison de titres hard rock tels que No One Like You en 1982 ou Rock You Like a Hurricane en 1984 et de ballades à l'instar de Still Loving You la même année ou Wind of Change et Send Me an Angel en 1990, toutes chansons au succès commercial presque systématique. Le déclin médiatique venu à partir des années 1990, les protagonistes se sont tournés vers de nouvelles expériences, avec notamment Moment of Glory (avec l'Orchestre philharmonique de Berlin) et Acoustica (album live acoustique) mais reviennent à leurs recettes traditionnelles en 2004 avec un Unbreakable salué par de nombreux fans et suivi en 2007 de l'album Humanity - Hour 1. À ce jour ils ont vendu plus de 75 millions d'albums à travers le monde.

Le Skorpion VZ61 (Vzor 1961=Modèle 1961) est le plus célèbre des pistolet mitrailleur tchèque. Il a été inventé par l'ingénieur Miroslav Rybár et fabriqué par CZ-UB.
