Schächten
Das Schächten oder Schechita (hebr. שחט šacḥaṭ „schlachten“) ist das rituelle Schlachten von Tieren, insbesondere im Judentum und im Islam. Die Einhaltung des Schächtritus dient dem möglichst rückstandslosen Ausbluten des Tieres vor Eintritt des Todes, um die rituelle Reinheit des Fleisches zum menschlichen Verzehr zu bewirken. Der Verzehr von Blut ist sowohl im Judentum als auch im Islam verboten.
