Saturn (planet)

Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second largest planet in the Solar System, after Jupiter. Along with the planets Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune, it is classified as a gas giant (also known as a Jovian planet, after the planet Jupiter). It was named after the Roman god Saturnus, equated to the Greek Kronos (the Titan father of Zeus) and the Babylonian Ninurta. Saturn's symbol represents the god's sickle (Unicode: ). The day in the week Saturday gets its name from the planet.

Saturn - szósta planeta Układu Słonecznego według oddalenia od Słońca. Jest to gazowy olbrzym, drugi pod względem masy i wielkości po Jowiszu, a przy tym paradoksalnie o najmniejszej gęstości ze wszystkich planet całego Układu Słonecznego. Saturn znany był już w świecie starożytnym. Charakterystyczną jego cechą są pierścienie składające się głównie z lodu i (w mniejszej ilości) z odłamków skalnych. Obecnie znamy 61 naturalnych satelitów Saturna (3 niepotwierdzone ostatecznie). Nazwa planety pochodzi od imienia rzymskiego boga - Saturna.

Saturno è il sesto pianeta del sistema solare in ordine di distanza dal Sole. Si tratta di un gigante gassoso, il secondo più grande dopo Giove.
