Satakunta

Satakunta (, ) is a region (maakunta / landskap) and a historical province of Finland. It borders the regions of Finland Proper, Tavastia Proper, Pirkanmaa, Southern Ostrobothnia and Ostrobothnia. The main city is Pori. There is a small minority of Finland-Swedes in Satakunta. Its name means literally Hundred. The historic region was a larger area within Österland, covering modern Satakunta as well as much of Pirkanmaa.

Satakunta [] (schwed. Satakunda) ist eine der 20 Landschaften Finnlands. Sie liegt im Westen des Landes in der Provinz Westfinnland. Satakunta grenzt im Norden an Österbotten und Südösterbotten, im Osten an Pirkanmaa, im Süden an Kanta-Häme und Varsinais-Suomi und im Westen an die Ostsee. Verwaltungssitz und größte Stadt ist Pori. Die Bevölkerung Satakuntas ist fast ausschließlich finnischsprachig. Nur 0,2% der Bevölkerung sprechen Schwedisch als Muttersprache.
