Sântana (deutsch Sanktanna, ungarisch Újszentanna) ist eine Marktgemeinde im westlichen Teil Rumäniens, auf einer Höhe von 112 Metern. Inmitten einer fruchtbaren Gegend, genannt Arader Ebene, die ein Teil der Theiß-Ebene an der östlichen Grenze des Pannonischen Beckens ist, vermittelt die Umgebung den Anblick einer Puszta, mit Blick auf die Ausläufer des Apuseni-Gebirges im Osten.

Carlos Santana jest znany jako długoletni lider i jedyny stały członek latynosko rockowej grupy Santana, jak i z solowej kariery.Ojciec Carlosa był zawodowym skrzypkiem i jego nauczycielem gry na tym instrumencie. Już jako dziecko Carlos grał na skrzypcach w grupie ojca. Gdy jednak pierwszy raz usłyszał granego bluesa i rock and rolla zamienił instrument na gitarę (w jednej z rozmów z Larrym Kingiem wyznał, że w grze przeszkadzał mu zapach skrzypiec).

Sântana (in ungherese Újszentanna) è una città della Romania di 12.936 abitanti, ubicata nel distretto di Arad, nella regione storica della Transilvania.La presenza della città è documentata si riferisce ad un antico insediamento, denominato Comlaus, citato in un documento ecclesiastico del 1334 che inserisce la località nell'arcidiocesi di Pâncota; all'epoca del dominio dell'Impero Austro-Ungarico, Comlaus venne unita con un borgo denominato Sfanta Ana, ubicato a Sud-Est, a formare l'attuale Sântana.
