Sale is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 90 km east of Turin and about 15 km northeast of Alessandria. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,253 and an area of 44.7 km².Sale borders the following municipalities: Alessandria, Alluvioni Cambiò, Castelnuovo Scrivia, Guazzora, Isola Sant'Antonio, Piovera, and Tortona.
