Shakya
Shakya (Sanskrit: , Devanagari: शाक्य, : ) was an ancient tribe (janapada) of the Indian Subcontinent in the 1st millennium BCE. In Buddhist texts the Shakyas, the inhabitants of Shakya janapada, are mentioned as a clan of Gotama gotra.

Sakya (groupe)
Sakyapa
L'école Sakyapa ou Sakya (tib: sa skya) est l'une des quatre lignées contemporaines du bouddhisme tibétain. Elle a été fondée en 1073 par Khön Köntchok Gyalpo (1034-1102) disciple de Drokmi Sakya Yéshé (992-1072) qui reçu en Inde, l'enseignement du yogi indien Virupa. Khön Köntchok Gyalpo transmis l'autorité sur l'école Sakyapa et à son fils Sachen Kunga Nyingpo. C’est l’un des trois courants sarmapa (kagyupa, sakyapa, gelugpa) issus d’une nouvelle vague de traductions de sanscrit en tibétain venus concurrencer le bouddhisme ancien nyingmapa.

Les Sakyas, Shakyas ou Sakyas, encore appelés Çâkyas, Sokyas, Sakkas ou Sakiyas, « capables » en sanscrit, était une tribu établie au nord de la péninsule indienne aux VI et V siècles av. J.-C.. Sakya
Sakya är en av de fyra skolorna inom den tibetanska buddhismen och den räknas till "röda hatt-sekterna" tillsammans med skolorna Kagyü och Nyingma. Skolans namn (tibetanska: ས་སྐྱ་, Wylie: Sa skya) betyder "blek jord" och har sitt upphov i det bergslandskap utanför Shigatse, där Sakya-klostret är beläget.

Sakja
Sakja – jedna z czterech głównych tradycji buddyzmu tybetańskiego.
Tradycja tej szkoły wywodzi się z Indii, przede wszystkim od Wirupy, który był pierwszym człowiekiem propagującym najbardziej charakterystyczne dla tej tradycji nauki Lamdre "ścieżki i owocu" (tybetański lam 'bras). Drugim źródłem pochodzenia Sakja jest przekaz tantry Wadżrakilaja pochodzący od Padmasambhawy, gdyż zanim otrzymano przekaz Lamdre praktykowano w linii przekazu również owe unikalne nauki Ningma. Ponadto Sakja otrzymuje unikalny przekaz Wadżrajogini, który w odróżnieniu od szkoły Kagju nie pochodzi od Marpy Tłumacza, ale od "dwóch braci z Phamthingpa" Jigme Dragpa i Ngawang Dragpa, którzy praktykowali u Mahasiddy Naropa w Indiach. Przekaz ten utrzymuje dziś również szkoła Gelug.
