Sakina

Sakina (Arabic: سكينة) is an Arabic word derived from "Sakoon", meaning "peace" or "tranquility". It appears in the Qur'an.

v. avoid, beware, be cautious, forbear, be wary of, abstain, beg, be careful not to, cradle, eschew, evade, flee from, flinch, hang back, refrain, shuffle, shun, shy, stow, be wary of doing smth.

[Islamic] "Security, tranquility". In the Qur'an (2:248) it is a reference to the Hebrew shekina, "divine presence, immanence". In the next chapter of the Qur'an it says: "There will come to you the ark [tabut] with the sakina in it. The word could also mean "spirit, faith, courage" (Qur'an 9:26, 40, 48:2).
