Safety Defect

A defect in a product subject to the provisions of the 46 U.S.C. Chapter 43, which creates a substantial risk of personal injury to the public. The defective part or area may be under the provisions of 46 (U.S.C.) Chapter 43, and if so regulated, may or may not be in compliance with that standard. (USCG1)
