Sabah is one of 13 member states of Malaysia, and is its easternmost state. It is located on the northern portion of the island of Borneo. It is the second largest state in the country after Sarawak, which it borders on its southwest. It also shares a border with the province of East Kalimantan of Indonesia in the south. In spite of its status as a Malaysian state, Sabah remains a disputed territory; the Philippines has a dormant claim over much of the eastern part of the territory. The capital of Sabah is Kota Kinabalu, formerly known as Jesselton. Sabah is often referred to as "Land Below The Wind", because of its location just south of the typhoon-prone region around the Philippines.

Sabah (von ) ist ein Bundesstaat von Malaysia. Es bildet zusammen mit Sarawak den malaysischen Teil der Insel Borneo. Sabah wird aufgrund seiner Lage südlich (unterhalb) des pazifischen Taifungürtels auch "Land unter dem Wind" (mal. negeri di bawah bayu) genannt.

Le Sabah est le deuxième État de Malaisie par sa superficie. Il est situé au nord de Bornéo. La partie malaisienne de l'île inclut aussi l'État du Sarawak. Le sud de l'île, ou Kalimantan, fait partie du territoire indonésien.

Sabah (från 1888 fram till självständigheten 1963 kallat Brittiska Nordborneo) är den mindre av de två malaysiska delstaterna på ön Borneo (den andra är Sarawak). Sabah består av den nordligaste delen av ön och är berömd bland annat för sitt rika djurliv, med till exempel orangutanger och näsapor. Provinsen har en yta på 73 631 km² och hade 3 131 600 invånare år 2008. Sabahs huvudstad är Kota Kinabalu. Andra stora städer är Sandakan och Tawau. Sydostasiens högsta punkt, Gunung Kinabalu på 4 481 meter över havet, ligger i Sabah.
