SDRAM
Er zijn 3 soorten van RAM-geheugen op de markt: SDRAM, EDO RAM en Fast Page Mode (FPM) RAM. SDRAM is het snelste, maar ook het duurste, dan komt EDO en dan het voornamelijk in 486 PC’s gebruikte FPM geheugen.
