SaBRE (Supporting Britain's Reservists and Employers) is a government sponsored organisation established in 2002. It was set up "with the belief that if an employer understands the role of Reservists and is aware of the skills they develop their support for their Reserve Forces employees will be that much greater". It is a section of the Ministry of Defence.

The sabre or saber (see spelling differences) is a kind of backsword that usually has a curved, single-edged blade and a rather large hand guard, covering the knuckles of the hand as well as the thumb and forefinger. Although sabres are typically thought of as curved-bladed slashing weapons, those used by the world's heavy cavalry often had straight and even double-edged blades more suitable for thrusting. The length of sabres varied, and most were carried in a scabbard hanging from a shoulder belt known as a baldric or from a waist-mounted sword belt. Exceptions not intended for personal carry include the Patton saber adopted by the United States Army in 1913 and always mounted to the cavalryman's saddle.

Der Säbel ist eine leichte Hieb- und Stichwaffe. Der klassische Säbel war gekrümmt und nur einseitig geschliffen. Er war die typische Waffe leichter Kavallerie wie etwa der Husaren. Heute werden Säbel auch beim Sportfechten verwendet, die allerdings mit den historischen Kriegswaffen kaum mehr als den Namen gemeinsam haben.

Le sabre est une arme blanche d'estoc et de taille, dont on utilise la pointe et le tranchant. Généralement courbe, il ne possède qu'un seul tranchant (ce qui le distingue de l'épée), il peut être utilisé à une ou deux mains en fonction du type de sabre.

Le moteur SABRE (Synergic Air Breathing Engine) est le moteur utilisé dans les projets de LAPCAT et Reaction Engines Limited pour des avions supersoniques. Les avions qu'il propulse sont le Skylon et le LAPCAT A2.

Sabel (ytterst ett ord av ungerskt ursprung, att skära - "szabni") är ett blankvapen (huggvapen), från början med krökt, oftast eneggad klinga och asymmetriskt fäste. På flera sabelmodeller är parerstången utvecklad till en skålformig parerplåt som täcker en stor del av handen.

North American F-86 Sabre (ang. – szabla) – amerykański odrzutowy samolot wojskowy zaprojektowany dla Sił Powietrznych Stanów Zjednoczonych w latach 40. XX wieku i budowany po zakończeniu II wojny światowej w ponad osiemnastu wersjach. Pierwszy amerykański samolot wyposażony w fotel pilota wyrzucany energią znajdującego się pod nim ładunku wybuchowego.

Szabla (ang. sabre, ros. sablja, niem. säbel, fr. sabre) jest zaliczana do kategorii długiej siecznej broni białej. Wyróżnia się jednosieczną, wygiętą głownią. Może ona w końcowej części być obosieczna, czyli posiadać tzw. pióro. Przeznaczona do zadawania cięć i sztychów (kłucia). Szabla jest bardzo podobna do miecza lecz nim nie jest (miecz ma proste, równe ostrze).
