SAAMI LANGUAGES

Sami or Saami is a general name for a group of Uralic languages spoken by the Sami people in parts of northern Finland, Norway, Sweden and extreme northwestern Russia, in Northern Europe. Sami is frequently (and erroneously) believed to be a single language. Several names are used for the Sami languages: Saami, Sámi, Samic, Saamic, Lappish and Lappic. The last two are, along with the term Lapp, considered derogatory by some.

Le same (ou « lapon », terme dépréciatif d'origine scandinave), dénommé sámegiella ou sápmelaš ou encore sápmi, est une langue qui fait partie de la famille des langues finno-ougriennes. Il est parlé par environ  Saami, en Laponie, vaste territoire allant du centre de la Suède à l'extrémité de la péninsule de Kola (Russie), en passant par le nord de la Norvège et de la Finlande.

Sami (auch Samisch oder Saami, in der älteren Literatur auch als Lappisch bezeichnet) ist eine Gruppe von finno-ugrischen Sprachen, die von ca. 20.000 Menschen in Lappland gesprochen werden, einer Region, die sich von Norwegen über Schweden und Finnland bis auf die Halbinsel Kola erstreckt. Es gibt je nach Art und Gesichtspunkt der Einteilung zehn oder mehr samische Sprachen oder Dialekte. Eine gegenseitige Verständigung zwischen den Sprechern verschiedener samischer Sprachen ist nicht immer oder oft nur schwer möglich. Von ihnen ist Nord-Sami die am weitesten verbreitete und auch am häufigsten medial genutzte Variante. Der Language Code ist se für Nord-Sami (nach ISO 639).

Języki lapońskie (sami lub saami) to grupa języków ugrofińskich (rodzina uralska), różniących się jednak dość znacznie od pozostałych języków ugrofińskich i nie zaliczanych do żadnego z trzech głównych zespołów językowych tj. bałtyckofińskiego, permskiego ani wołżańskiego. Posługuje się nimi ok. 35 tys. Saamów (Lapończyków), zamieszkujących Laponię na dalekiej północy Skandynawii. Pozostałe około 100 000 Samów mówi językami urzędowymi krajów, w których mieszkają. Wszystkie języki lapońskie (oprócz języka północnolapońskiego) są zagrożone wymarciem.

Le lingue sami o lapponi sono lingue parlate dalle popolazioni sami in Norvegia, Svezia, Finlandia e Russia. Appartengono alla famiglia delle lingue uraliche. Sono generalmente categorizzate in 11 lingue di cui una estinta nel 1800 e altre quattro in pericolo d'estinzione. In forma scritta, solo sei lingue hanno una storia letteraria. La lingua comune da cui sono generate è chiamata protosami.
