Russo-Turkish War, 1787-1792

The Russo–Turkish War of 1787–1792 involved a futile attempt by the Ottoman Empire to regain lands lost to Russia in the course of the previous Russo–Turkish War, 1768–1774.In 1786 Catherine II of Russia made a triumphal procession through the annexed Crimea in company with her ally, Emperor Joseph II. These events and the friction caused by mutual complaints of infringements of the Treaty of Kuchuk-Kainarji, which had closed the previous war, stirred up public opinion in Constantinople, while the British and French ambassadors lent their unconditional support to the war party.

Wojna rosyjsko-turecka 1787-1792 - wojna pomiędzy cesarstwem rosyjskim a imperium osmańskim, które chciało odzyskać ziemie utracone w 1774, po przegranej wojnie z Rosją.W 1786 cesarzowa Katarzyna II przeprowadziła demonstrację siły wobec Turcji, spotykając się na anektowanym Krymie z cesarzem Józefem. Turcja potraktowała to wydarzenie jako jawne złamanie warunków traktatu w Küczük Kajnardży i przy poparciu dyplomacji Francji i Wielkiej Brytanii w sierpniu 1787 wypowiedziała wojnę Rosji. W lutym 1788 z pomocą Katarzynie II przyszła Austria.

De Russisch-Turkse Oorlog van 1787 tot 1792 was de zesde van elf oorlogen tussen het Russische Rijk en het Ottomaanse Rijk van 1600 tot 1917. Inzet van de strijd was voor de Ottomanen het herkrijgen van de verloren gegane gebieden tijdens de Russisch-Turkse Oorlog van 1768 tot 1774. De oorlog liep echter uit op een totale mislukking, waarbij de Russen hun grondgebied nog verder uitbreidden.

Русско-турецкая война 1787—1792 — война между Россией и Австрией с одной стороны и Османской империей с другой. Османская империя планировала в этой войне вернуть себе земли, отошедшие к России в ходе Русско-турецкой войны 1768—1774, в том числе и Крым. Война закончилась победой России и заключением Ясского мира.
