Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit

As of 2005, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit covers the City of Detroit as well as Lapeer, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, and Wayne counties in  Michigan. The Diocese of Detroit, erected on March 8, 1833, was elevated to Archdiocese on May 22, 1937.The Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament located in Detroit serves as the Archbishop's church.
