River Phoenix
River Jude Phoenix (August 23, 1970 – October 31, 1993) was an American film actor, musician, and activist. He was the oldest brother of fellow actors Rain, Joaquin, Liberty, and Summer Phoenix. Phoenix's work encompassed 24 films and television appearances, including the science fiction adventure film Explorers, the coming-of-age film Stand By Me, the action sequel Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and the independent adult drama My Own Private Idaho.

River Phoenix, de son vrai nom River Jude Bottom, acteur mythique américain né le 23 août 1970 à Metolius près de Madras (Oregon, États-Unis) et mort en pleine gloire a l'instar de James Dean le 31 octobre 1993 à Hollywood (Californie) d'un arrêt du cœur dû à une surdose d'héroïne et de cocaïne. Il était le frère aîné des acteurs Joaquin Phoenix, Summer Phoenix et Rain Phoenix.

River Phoenix
River Phoenix (ur. 23 sierpnia 1970 w Madras, Oregon, zm. 31 października 1993 w Hollywood, Kalifornia), amerykański aktor filmowy i muzyk.
Przyszedł na świat w wielodzietnej rodzinie (jednym z jego braci jest aktor Joaquin Phoenix) byłych hipisów i członków organizacji Dzieci Boga. Od wczesnych lat pasjonował się muzyką i aktorstwem. Debiutował w filmach obyczajowych dla dzieci i młodzieży. Pierwszy sukces odniósł w wieku 18 lat, gdy został nominowany do Oscara i Złotego Globu za rolę w Straconych latach Sidneya Lumeta. Rok później wcielił się w postać młodego Indiany Jonesa w filmie Indiana Jones i ostatnia krucjata. Zdaniem wielu krytyków i fanów najwybitniejszą swoją kreację stworzył w filmie Moje własne Idaho (1991) w reżyserii Gusa Van Santa. Otrzymał za nią Puchar Volpiego za najlepszą rolę męską na fesiwalu w Wenecji.
