Riot
This article is about a type of event. For other meanings of riot, see riot (disambiguation).Riots are a form of civil disorder characterized by disorganized groups lashing out in a sudden and intense rash of violencevandalism or other crime. While individuals may attempt to lead or control a riot, riots are typically chaotic and exhibit herd behavior.Riots often occur in reaction to a perceived grievance or out of dissent. Historically, riots have occurred due to poor working or living conditionsgovernment oppressiontaxation or conscription, conflicts between races or religions (see race riot and pogrom), or even the outcome of a sporting event. Some claim that rioters are motivated by a rejection of or frustration with legal channels through which to air their grievances.

MOS Technology 6532
For the album by Paramore, see RIOT! The 6532 RAM-I/O-Timer (RIOT) was an integrated circuit made by MOS Technology, as well as second sources such as Rockwell. It incorporated 128 bytes of static RAM, two bidirectional 8-bit digital I/O ports, and a programmable timer. This high degree of integration made it quite popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s, as it could take the place of several different ICs. Perhaps its best-known use was in the Atari 2600 game console. This chip was also used in famous pinball machines made by Gottlieb, like Haunted House and Black Hole.
