Rick James
James Ambrose Johnson, Jr. (February 1, 1948August 6, 2004), better known by his stage name Rick James, was an American singer, songwriter, musician and record producer. James was a popular performer in the late 1970s and 1980s, scoring four number-one hits on the U.S. R&B charts performing in the genres of funk and R&B. Among his well known songs are "Super Freak", "Mary Jane" and "You and I".

Rick James
Rick James (* 1. Februar 1948 in Buffalo, New York; † 6. August 2004 in Los Angeles, Kalifornien; eigentlich James Ambrose Johnson Junior) war ein US-amerikanischer Sänger, Songwriter und Musikproduzent. Während der späten 1970er und frühen 1980er Jahre war er einer der erfolgreichsten Künstler des Musiklabels Motown. James' musikalischer Stil war eine wilde Interpretation von Funkmusik und Rhythm and Blues (R&B), die er durch sein eigenwilliges Erscheinungsbild unterstützte.

Rick James
Rick James, eg. James Ambrose Johnson Jr, född 1 februari 1948 i Buffalo, New York, död 6 augusti 2004 i Burbank, Kalifornien, var en amerikansk sångare, basist, pianist och låtskrivare. Hans största hit var Super Freak 1981. Den remixades 1991 för MC Hammers U Can't Touch This.

Rick James
Rick James, właściwie James Ambrose Johnson junior (1 lutego 1948, Buffalo, Nowy Jork - 6 sierpnia 2004, Los Angeles), amerykański muzyk funky, kompozytor, autor tekstów, producent nagrań.
Po dezercji z marynarki ukrywał się w latach 1967-1977; przebywał głównie w Kanadzie i Wielkiej Brytanii. Był liderem zespołu soulowego The Mynah Birds (z udziałem m.in. Neila Younga) w Toronto oraz grupy bluesowej The Main Line w Londynie. Od 1977 r. związany kontraktem z firmą Gordy (filią Motown) nagrywał płyty indywidualne, z towarzyszeniem zespołu instrumentalnego The Stone City Band, a także zespołów wokalnych The Punk Funk Chorus i The Mary Jane Girls. W późniejszym okresie pomagał tym zespołom, m.in. nagrał razem z The Stone City Band płytę In'n'Out (1980).
