Rhätische Bahn

The RhB (Rhaetian Railway / Rhätische Bahn (German) / Ferrovia Retica (Italian) / Viafier Retica (Rumantsch)) has the largest network of all the private railways in Switzerland. The company operates most of the railways in the south-easternmost canton of Graubünden (Italian: Grigioni, Rumantsch: Grischun, French/English: Grisons) since the Federal Railways SBB-CFF-FFS extend only a few kilometres over the cantonal border to the capital at Chur.

Die Rhätische Bahn (RhB), (ital. Ferrovia retica, rätoromanisch Viafier retica) ist eine Schmalspurbahngesellschaft im Kanton Graubünden in der Schweiz. Von der Rechtsform her ist die RhB eine Aktiengesellschaft mit Sitz in Chur. Das Aktienkapital halten der Kanton Graubünden (51 %) und der Bund (43 %), rund 6 % sind im Streubesitz (Gemeinden und Private).

De in 1888 opgerichte Schmalspurbahn Landquart–Davos AG werd in 1895 verandert in Rhätische Bahn (Italiaans: Ferrovia Retica, Retoromaans: Viafier Retica, afgekort RhB). De Rhätische Bahn is een Zwitserse spoorwegmaatschappij in het kanton Graubünden. De RhB is één van de vele private spoorwegmaatschappijen van Zwitserland. Deze private maatschappijen exploiteren meestal regionale spoorlijnen.
