Relative permeability
In multiphase flow in porous media, relative permeability is a dimensionless measure of the effective permeability of each phase. It can be viewed as an adaptation of Darcy's law to multiphase flow. For two-phase flow in porous media given steady-state conditions, we can write where is the flux, is the pressure drop, is the viscosity. The subscript indicates that the parameters are for phase .

Permeability (electromagnetism)
In electromagnetism, permeability is the degree of magnetization of a material that responds linearly to an applied magnetic field. Magnetic permeability is represented by the Greek letter μ. The term was coined in September, 1885 by Oliver Heaviside. In SI units, permeability is measured in henries per metre, or newtons per ampere squared. The constant value is known as the magnetic constant or the permeability of vacuum, and has the exact or defined value = 4π×10−7 N·A−2.
