Relative Record Data Set
A Relative Record Data Set (RRDS) is a type of data set organization used by the VSAM computer data storage system. Records are accessed based on their ordinal position in the file (relative record number, RRN). For example, the desired record to be accessed might be the 42nd record in the file out of 999 total.

Relative Record Data Set
Een Relative Record Data Set (RRDS) is een type dataset dat gebruikt wordt door het VSAM-opslagsysteem.
Records worden benaderd op basis van hun "ordinal position" in het bestand. Bijvoorbeeld: het gewenste record dat benaderd moet worden kan het 42e record in het bestand zijn uit een totaal van 999.

Relative Record Data Set
Relative Record Data Set (RRDS) es un tipo de organización de datos usado en VSAM, un sistema de ficheros de IBM. Se accede a los registros mediante su posición ordinal en el fixhero. Por ejemplo, el registro deseado puede ser el 42º en un fichero de 999 registros.
El concepto detrás de RRDS es similar al de un método de acceso secuencial, aunque puede acceder a los datos de manera aleatoria y dinámica.
