Red Army

The Red Army (Russian: Рабоче-Крестьянская Красная Армия, Raboche-Krest'yanskaya Krasnaya Armiya; RKKA, full translation the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army) was the armed force first organized by the Bolsheviks during the Russian Civil War in 1918 and that, in 1922, became the army of the Soviet Union. "Red" refers to the blood shed by the working class in its struggle against capitalism. The appellation 'Red' was dropped after World War II, when national symbols replaced those connoting the old revolutionary fervour, and it was officially renamed the Soviet Army. The Red Army eventually grew to form the largest army in history from the 1940s until the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, although China's People's Liberation Army may have exceeded the Red Army in size during some periods.

L’Armée rouge, en russe  (ou plus exactement - l’Armée rouge des ouvriers et paysans) est l’armée mise sur pied, dans l’ancien empire russe par le nouveau pouvoir bolchevik, après la révolution d'Octobre, afin de combattre la contre-révolution des Blancs soutenus par les puissances étrangères (France, Royaume-Uni, Tchécoslovaquie, États-Unis, Japon). Le terme rouge a une connotation révolutionnaire et fait référence au sang.

Die Rote Arbeiter- und Bauernarmee (russisch , Rabotsche-Krestjanskaja Krasnaja Armija, kurz : Rote Armee, entsprechend: : „Rotarmist“) war die Armee der Sowjetunion. Meist bezeichnet der Begriff die Streitkräfte Sowjetrusslands bzw. der Sowjetunion zwischen 1918 und 1946. Sie wurde unter der maßgeblichen Beteiligung Leo Trotzkis mit Hilfe von Militärspezialisten der zaristischen Armee in der Revolutionszeit aufgebaut. Die Bezeichnung entstand im Verlauf des russischen Bürgerkrieges, als die Gegner als Weiße Armee bezeichnet wurden.

L'Armata Rossa è il nome dato alle forze armate dell'Unione Sovietica dopo la disintegrazione delle forze zariste nel 1917. L'aggettivo «Rossa» fa riferimento al colore tradizionale del movimento socialista e comunista.L'Armata Rossa dei lavoratori e dei contadini ufficialmente denominata (in Russo: Рабоче-Крестьянская Красная Армия - Raboche-Krest'yanskaya Krasnaya Armiya) fu fondata su decreto del Consiglio dei Commissari del Popolo nel 1918 e divenne l'armata dell'URSS al momento della fondazione dello stato stesso, nel 1922.
