Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, known as New Hyderabad International Airport, is under construction near Shamshabad about 22 km from the city of Hyderabad, in India. The airport will replace the current airport, Begumpet Airport. Scheduled to open on 16 March 2008, it is the first public-private partnership in the Indian airport infrastructure sector.
