Raipur

Raipur (Hindi: रायपुर) is the capital city of the state of Chhattisgarh, India. The population is 700,113(agglomeration) 2006. Raipur is the 55th largest city agglomeration in India according to the 2001 census. The city is also the administrative headquarters of Raipur District. It was formerly a part of Madhya Pradesh before the state of Chhattisgarh was formed on November 1, 2000. A World Class City Naya Raipur is being developed near Raipur.
