Ragged Glory

Ragged Glory is a 1990 album by Neil Young and Crazy Horse. The album revisits the hard rock style previously explored on Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere and Zuma. Indeed, the first two tracks are songs originally written and performed live by the band in the 70s. "Farmer John" is a cover of a 60s song, written and performed by R&B duo Don and Dewey and also performed by garage band The Premiers.

Ragged Glory è un album musicale di Neil Young del 1990. Dopo Freedom questo è un altro disco considerevole perché pieno di energia. È considerato molto importante all'interno del genere grunge (specie per il brano "Fuckin' Up") di cui Young è considerato il padrino".Il disco è il più elettrico del canadese, con l'uso di feedback e distorsioni dalla prima all'ultima canzone, nonostante ciò vi è un'atmosfera gioiosa ed agreste. Si dice che la band sia stata influenzata dalle sonorità dei Sonic Youth che facevano da supporto al loro tour. Sono presenti due cover: "Farmer John" (classico anni 60) e "Mother Earth" che sulla melodia della nota canzone folk inglese del Seicento "The Water is Wilde" (detta anche "O Waly Waly") ha un testo ambientalista riscritto da Neil.

Ragged Glory is een CD uit 1990 van de zanger-gitarist Neil Young. Op dit album trekt Neil Young stevig rockend van leer, samen met zijn oude begeleidingsband Crazy Horse. De meeste nummers zijn relatief lang (veelal zes minuten of langer). Naast de bekende zang van Neil Young speelt de (veelal jankend solerende) leadgitaar een prominente rol. Velen beschouwen " Ragged Glory" als "Grunge" avant-la-lettre. Voor een aantal "Grunge"-bands uit de jaren '90 is dit album een inspiratiebron geweest.
