Radiohead

Radiohead are an English rock band. Initially formed in Oxfordshire in 1986, the band's lineup, which has remained the same since their inception, consists of Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Ed O'Brien, Colin Greenwood and Phil Selway.Radiohead released their first single, "Creep", in 1992, followed by their debut album Pablo Honey (1993). Though it was initially unsuccessful, the song became a worldwide hit by the time it was re-issued a year later. Radiohead's popularity in the United Kingdom increased with their second album, The Bends (1995). The band's dense guitar atmospheres and Yorke's expressive falsetto singing were warmly received by critics and fans alike. Radiohead's third album, OK Computer (1997), propelled them to greater attention. Featuring an expansive sound and themes of modern alienation, it was acclaimed worldwide, often being named a landmark record of the 1990s.

I Radiohead sono una rock band inglese proveniente dall'Oxfordshire, formatasi nel 1986 con il nome originario di On a Friday. I Radiohead rilasciarono il loro primo singolo, "Creep" nel 1992, tratto dall’album di debutto Pablo Honey (1993). La canzone fu un inaspettato successo mondiale, e almeno all'inizio, la band venne etichettata come una one-hit wonder. L'album, seppur ben accolto negli Stati Uniti, passò quasi inosservato in Inghilterra. Il successo in patria arrivò solo con il secondo album, The Bends (1995), che fece guadagnare alla band numerosi fans. La reputazione del gruppo crebbe ancor di più con l’uscita del terzo album; caratterizzato da un suono più esteso e dal tema ricorrente dell’alienazione moderna, OK Computer (1997) è riconosciuto da diversi critici come una pietra miliare nella musica rock degli anni ‘90.
