RAINFALL, MAXIMIZATION

(1) Moisture Maximization: The process of adjusting precipitation upward to a theoretical value that would have pertained if the moisture content of the air had been at the maximum with other storm conditions remaining unchanged. (2) Sequential Maximization: Reducing the observed elapsed time between storms to develop a hypothetical severe precipitation sequence. (3) Spatial Maximization: Reducing the distance between precipitation storms for a hypothetical severe sequence.
