RADIF

This article is about radif in Urdu poetry. For the radif in Iranian music theory, see Musical radif. Radif (Arabic: رديف) is a rule in Urdu poetry which states that, in the form of poetry known as a Ghazal, the second line of all the Shers must end with the same word/s. This repeating of common words is the "Radif" of the Ghazal. It is proceeded by a Qaafiyaa, which is a repeating pattern of words.

Le radif est un corpus réunissant de nombreux gusheh (exercices) représentatifs des modes de la musique iranienne. Il en existe pour divers instruments et de divers maîtres. Il s'agit d'une suite d'exercices fixés sur partition, permettant l'approche d'un mode. Il faut les connaître par coeur et pouvoir improviser à partir d'eux.

Si definisce Radif (Persiano: ردیف, che significa ordine) una serie di antiche figure melodiche trasmesse attraverso svariate generazioni per mezzo della tradizione orale. Su questo insieme di melodie si basa la musica tradizionale iraniana, che viene tramandata da maestro a studente (dalla cui bravura e memoria dipende la preservazione della musica) e integrata dalle personali interpretazione dei maestri più importanti.
