Wallonia ( , , Dutch: Wallonië or , ) is the predominantly French-speaking southern region of Belgium. It is governed as the Walloon Region, which makes up 55% of the territory of Belgium but with only a third of its population. Contrary to the situation in Flanders, the Walloon Region was not merged with the French Community of Belgium, a political level responsible for matters related mainly to culture and education. The small German-speaking minority in the east forms the German-speaking Community of Belgium, which has its own government and parliament for culture-related issues. The demonym for Wallonia is Walloon.

The Walloon Region, commonly called Wallonia, is one of the three federal Regions of Belgium, and its capital is Namur. It comprises, as defined by Article 5 of the Constitution of Belgium, the provinces of Walloon Brabant, Hainaut, Liège, Luxembourg and Namur. The Walloon Region has an area of 16,844 km² (55.18% of Belgium) with nearly 3.5 million inhabitants (32.4% of the Belgian population).

Die Wallonische Region (Französisch Région wallonne, niederländisch Waals Gewest), oft nur die Wallonie (Wallonisch Waloneye, auch Walonreye, Französisch Wallonie, Niederländisch Wallonië), zuweilen auch Wallonien genannt, ist eine der drei Regionen Belgiens. Die Bevölkerung spricht vorwiegend Französisch, im äußersten Osten Deutsch. Die Hauptstadt ist Namur, größte Stadt ist Charleroi, das eigentliche kulturelle und wirtschaftliche Zentrum aber ist Lüttich. Weitere wichtige Städte sind Mons, Tournai, Arlon, Bastogne, Wavre, Verviers, Dinant und die ehemals preußischen Städte Eupen und Malmedy. Die Wallonie umfasst geografisch die südliche Hälfte Belgiens.

La Région wallonne, communément appelée Wallonie, est l'une des trois Régions de la Belgique, et Namur est sa capitale. La Région couvre une superficie de km avec près de 3 millions et demi d'habitants, soit 55,18 e la superficie belge et 32,4 e la population belge.

La Wallonie est la partie méridionale de la Belgique appartenant au domaine linguistique roman, par opposition au domaine linguistique germanique du nord. Cette « terre romane » est depuis environ 1886 la base des revendications du mouvement wallon. Elle se concrétise politiquement par la création de la région de langue française et de la Région wallonne en 1970, qui par métonymie peuvent être aussi désignées par le terme « Wallonie ».

Vallonien (franska: Wallonie, tyska: Wallonien), även Valloniet, är en av Belgiens tre federala regioner. Invånarna kallas valloner och den övervägande delen av befolkningen är franskspråkig. Regionen har en yta på 16 844 km² och 3 358 560 invånare (2002), vilket gör att folktätheten är 199,39 inv/km². Huvudstad i regionen är Namur.

Walonia (fr.: Wallonie) lub Region Walonii (fr.: Région Wallonne) - francuskojęzyczny region w południowej części Belgii, stanowiący jeden z trzech regionów federalnych tego kraju. Jego stolicą jest Namur.
