QBO

The QBO (quasi-biennial oscillation) is a quasi-periodic oscillation of the equatorial zonal wind between easterlies and westerlies in the tropical stratosphere with a mean period of 28 to 29 months. The alternating wind regimes develop at the top of the lower stratosphere and propagate downwards at about 1 km per month until they are dissipated at the tropical tropopause. Downward motion of the easterlies is usually more irregular than that of the westerlies. The amplitude of the easterly phase is about twice as strong as that of the westerly phase. At the top of the vertical QBO domain, easterlies dominate, while at the bottom, westerlies are more likely to be found.

Die quasi-zweijährige Schwingung (Abk.: QBO vom englischen "quasi-biennial oscillation"), auch quasi-biennale Oszillation, ist eine quasi-periodische atmosphärische Welle des zonalen Windes in der äquatorialen Stratosphäre der Erde.Sie zeigt sich in einer Höhe von rund 16 bis 40 Kilometern mit einem Maximum bei circa 20-25 Kilometern Höhe und ist durch eine Ost-West-Windumkehr geprägt. Die Periode schwankt dabei seit Beginn der Beobachtungen im Jahr 1953 zwischen zwei bis drei Jahren, wobei die mittlere Periode 28 Monate beträgt. Ihre Ostwindphase hält in den oberen Schichten länger und in den unteren Schichten kürzer an als ihre Westwindphase. Die Ostwinde sind hierbei stärker als die Westwinde ausgeprägt, wobei diese eine Stärke von -30 m/s (Ostwind) bis +15 m/s (Westwind) aufweisen.

Qbo es una banda de rock alternativo originaria de México desde el año 2002.De las entrañas del rock experimentado y la pila y frescura de la escena subterránea se unen tres músicos; Tonio (T.R.) tocando la guitarra y cantando, Maxz en el bajo y Tarro en la batería, ellos se juntan para hacer QBO, una banda que como muchas han estado tocando puertas por fin se le abrieron en la casa discográfica EMI donde firmaron un contrato para sacar no menos de 4 discos y con la chance a un quinto disco. Este proyecto a diferencia de muchos de esa discográfica y de otras, saldrá con un precio de 98.00 pesos, eso con el afán a seguir motivando y fomentando a la gente para consumir música original.
