PyQt is the Python binding of the GUI toolkit Qt.PyQt is developed by the British firm Riverbank Computing. It is available under similar terms as Qt, this means variety of licenses including GPL and commercial license. PyQt supports Linux and other flavours of Unix, as well as Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows.

PyQt est un module libre qui permet de lier le langage Python avec la bibliothèque Qt distribué sous deux licences : une commerciale et la GNU GPL. Il permet ainsi de créer des interfaces graphiques en python. Une extension de QtDesigner (utilitaire graphique de création d'interfaces Qt) permet de générer le code Python d'interfaces graphiques.

Oprócz tworzenia interfejsów graficznych PyQt tak jak Qt obsługuje również połączenia z bazami danych, zarządzanie i prostą edycję grafik oraz inne operacje systemowe.PyQt jest rozwijane przez brytyjską firmę Riverbank Computing i dystrybuowane na zasadach zgodnych z zasadami licencjonowania biblioteki Qt (GPL dla projektów OpenSource lub płatna licencja dla komercyjnych projektów). PyQT é um wrapper da linguagem Python para a biblioteca Qt, que é a base do KDE (ambiente desktop para Linux). Existe uma biblioteca complementar, PyKDE, que atua sobre elementos específicos do KDE, como por exemplo interação com o kicker e a barra de tarefas.
