Provo, Utah

Provo is a city in Utah and the county seat of Utah County, located about 35 miles south of Salt Lake City along the Wasatch Front. It lies between the cities of Orem to the north and Springville to the south. It is the home of Brigham Young University, operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (sometimes called the Mormon or LDS Church). The LDS Church's largest Missionary Training Center is located in Provo.

Provo war eine niederländische anarchistische Protestbewegung in den 1960er-Jahren, deren Ziel es war, durch gewaltlose Aktionen gewalttätige Reaktionen von Behörden und sonstigen Autoritäten zu provozieren. Gegründet wurde die Gruppe am 25. Mai 1965 vom anarchistischen Philosophen Roel van Duijn, vom Nichtraucher-Aktivisten Robert Jasper Grootveld, vom Drucker Rob Stolk und vom Erfinder Luud Schimmelpennink. Provo löste sich am 13. Mai 1967 auf.

Provosi (Ruch Provo, Provotariat) – ruch kontrkulturowy, aktywny w Holandii w latach 1965-1967. Jego założycielem był Roel van Duijn, student filozofii zafascynowany anarchizmem, ideami Nowej Lewicy spod znaku Herberta Marcusego i artystycznymi dokonaniami dadaistów. Ruch nabrał dynamiki w maju 1965 r., gdy przystąpił do niego uliczny artysta Robert Jasper Grootveld, znany malarz i autor licznych happeningów, aktywista występujący przeciw koncernom tytoniowym.
