He was proclaimed best player at the Youth World Cup in Chile in 1987, winner of the Bravo Trophy and second in the survey of World Soccer in 1991. The year he was dismissed by Dinamo he was named best player in the Yugoslav U-21 category. He won Champions Cup with FC Red Star as well as International Cup in Tokyo. Capable of using both feet, which makes him effective at freekicks. Renowned for his ball skills. Because of injuries he has changed clubs several times. He was member of the Croatian National Team at the Euro '96 in England and WC '98 in France.
