Promachus
In Greek mythology, Promachus ("who leads in battle") referred to several different people.Son of Aeson and Alcimede, killed by Pelias along with his father while his brother, Jason, searched for the Golden Fleece.A son of Parthenopaeus and one of the Epigoni, who attacked the city of Thebes to avenge their fathers, the Seven Against Thebes, who died attempting the same thing. Promachus died in the attack, and was buried nearby at Teumessus.An epithet of Athena.A Greek warrior in the Iliad, he was killed by Acamas.

[Greek heroic] One of the Epigonoi. The son of Aeson. While his brother Jason was searching for the Golden Fleece, Promachus and his father were killed by Pelias. The name Pallas Athena, as patron goddess of Athens, was worshipped by (promachos, who leads in battle.
