Princes Street
Princes Street is one of the major thoroughfares in central
Edinburgh,
Scotland, and its main shopping street. It is the southernmost street of Edinburgh's
New Town, stretching around 1
mile (1.6
km) from Lothian Road in the west to Leith Street in the east. The street is mostly closed to private cars, with
public transport given priority. The street has virtually no buildings on the south side, allowing views of the
Old Town,
Edinburgh Castle, and the valley between.

transport en commun. La rue n'est bordée d'immeubles que sur son coté nord, le coté sud permettant d'avoir une vue sur la vieille ville, le

Edinburgh ist heutzutage die Haupteinkaufsstraße im Stadtzentrum, obwohl sie ursprünglich als Wohnstraße angelegt wurde. Als südlichste Straße der New Town liegt sie zwischen Lothian Road im Westen und Leith Street im Osten. Da am Südrand der Straße kaum Gebäude liegen, hat man schöne Ausblicke auf die Princes Street Gardens, die Old Town und
Edinburgh Castle. Die Princes Street ist größtenteils für den Privatverkehr gesperrt.
