The Prime Minister is the head of the government of Morocco but the Prime Minister is appointed by the King of Morocco as the Monarch is the head of the state.1 The position of Prime Minister was abolished and replaced by absolute monarchy under King Mohammed V from 20 May1960 to 26 February1961 which was the date that he died. After King Mohammed V's death, his son King Hassan II became King and he continued his absolute rule until 13 November1963 when he recreated the position of Prime Minister.
