Poznań

Located by the Warta River, it is one of the oldest cities in Poland, making it an important historical centre and a vibrant centre of trade, industry, and education. Poznań is Poland's fifth largest city and fourth biggest industrial centre. It is also the administrative capital of the Greater Poland Voivodeship.

Poznań (AFI , , , , în contexte tradiţionale supranumit şi Stołeczne Miasto Poznań adică Oraşul—Capitala Poznań) este cel al 5-lea oraş al Poloniei după numărul locuitorilor şi al 6-lea după suprafaţă, ocupând o arie de 261,85 km2.. În 2008 avea un număr de 559.458 de cetăţeni înregistraţi. Este capitala voievodatului Polonia Mare şi reşedinţa powiat-ului poznański iar de la 1 ianuarie 1999 poartă şi statutul de municipiu fiind exclus din powiat-ul înconjurător. Este străbătut de râul Warta, afluent al Odrei.
