Portugal (, ), officially the Portuguese Republic is a country situated in southwestern Europe on the Iberian Peninsula . Portugal is the westernmost country of mainland Europe, and is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the West and South and by Spain to the North and East. The Atlantic archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira are part of Portugal. The country is named after its second largest city, Porto, whose Latin name was Portus Cale.

Portugal (amtl. República Portuguesa) ist ein europäischer Staat im Westen der iberischen Halbinsel. Im Westen und Süden wird es vom Atlantischen Ozean, im Osten und Norden von Spanien begrenzt. Zum portugiesischen Staatsgebiet gehören die Inseln der Azoren und Madeira (mit Porto Santo). Westlich der Hauptstadt Lissabon liegt Cabo da Roca, der westlichste Punkt des europäischen Festlandes.

Portugalia, Republika Portugalska (República Portuguesa) – państwo europejskie położone w zachodniej części Europy Południowej na południowym zachodzie Półwyspu Iberyjskiego. Jest najdalej wysuniętym na zachód państwem Europy, od północy i wschodu graniczy z Hiszpanią a od zachodu i południa Portugalię oblewają wody Oceanu Atlantyckiego. Dodatkowo w skład Portugalii wchodzi szereg wysp położonych na Oceanie Atlantyckim, jak Archipelag Azorski (Açores) i Madera (Madeira). Jest członkiem Unii Europejskiej oraz NATO.
