Politics of the United Kingdom

The Politics of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland takes place in the framework of a constitutional monarchy in which the Monarch is head of state and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom is the head of government. It is a pluriform multi-party system with a partial devolution of power in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and the two chambers of Parliament, the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature, though several senior judges are members of the House of Lords, which is currently the highest court of the UK.

Auch wenn formal der britische Monarch zumindest theoretisch alle Befugnisse besitzt, gilt das Vereinigte Königreich als eine der ältesten Demokratien der Welt; die eigentliche Regierungsmacht liegt beim Premierminister, der sich auf die Mehrheit der Abgeordneten im House of Commons (Unterhaus) stützt. Dieses Regierungssystem (oft als Westminster-System bezeichnet) wurde von anderen Staaten unverändert oder leicht abgewandelt übernommen, wie z.B. Kanada, Indien, Australien, Neuseeland, Singapur und Jamaika.

Specyficzną cechą ustroju Wielkiej Brytanii jest brak konstytucji w znaczeniu formalnym (konstytucji spisanej). Zamiast tego, o ustroju państwa stanowi konstytucja w sensie materialnym, to znaczy ogół norm i zasad dotyczących wykonywania władzy. Prawo konstytucyjne Wielkiej Brytanii wywodzi się z pięciu źródeł:prawo stanowione prawo precedensowekonwenanse konstytucyjnedzieła, traktaty i podręczniki prawnicze.prawa i traktaty Unii EuropejskiejDzisiejsze instytucje i zasady ustrojowe powstawały w Wielkiej Brytanii poprzez adaptowanie dawnych instytucji do nowych warunków i aktualnych potrzeb. Zmiany następowały powoli i w sposób płynny. Podstawowe zasady i instytucje ustrojowe wykształciły się w ciągu XVII i XVIII stulecia. Podział kompetencji między królem a parlamentem skrystalizował się w wieku XVII, natomiast w wieku XVIII doszło do wykształcenia się rządu, oraz do uformowania podstawowych zasad parlamentarnych. Rewolucja przemysłowa przyniosła następnie demokratyzację tak ukształtowanego systemu.

Il Sistema politico del Regno Unito è composto da un complesso insieme di parlamentarismo, monarchia e democrazia, che convivono in un sistema pluripartitico. Il Primo ministro è capo del governo. Il potere esecutivo è esercitato dal governo, quello legislativo sia dal governo che dalle due camere del Parlamento, la House of Lords e la House of Commons. Quello giudiziario è indipendente da esecutivo e legislativo.
