Piye

Piye, whose name was once transliterated as Py(ankh)i. (d. 721 BC) was a Kushite king and founder of the Twenty-fifth dynasty of Egypt who ruled Egypt from the city of Napata, located deep in Nubia, Sudan. His predecessor, Kashta, almost certainly exercised a strong degree of influence over Thebes prior to Piye's accession because Kashta managed to have his daughter, Amenirdis I, adopted as the Heiress to the serving God's Wife of Amun, Shepenupet I, before the end of his reign. A Year 19 date carved at Wadi Gasus associates Shepenupet I (daughter of Osorkon III) with Year 12 of her Adopted Adoratice, Amenirdis I. This inscription has been interpreted by Egyptologists to mean that Year 12 of Piye is equivalent to Year 19 of one of Osorkon III's two sons, likely Takelot III based on recent archaeological discoveries.

Pije oder auch Pi'anchi war der zweite Pharao (König) der kuschitischen 25. Dynastie Ägyptens, die von etwa 750 bis 655 v. Chr. dauerte. Pije war der Nachfolger seines Vaters Kaschta. Seine Regierungszeit ist (nach Beckerath 1997) ca. 746–715/713 v. Chr. In seinem 20. Regierungsjahr hat er in einem Feldzug von Süden her ganz Ägypten bis zum Nildelta erobert und darüber auf einer 1862 im Amun-Tempel von Napata am 4. Katarakt (Gebel Barkal) gefundenen Stele ausführlich berichtet. Diese Siegesstele des Pije ist die wichtigste Quelle für die politische Geschichte und Situation Ägyptens in der 2. Hälfte des 8. Jahrhunderts vor Christus.

Pianchi lub Pije (imię kuszyckie) - władca kuszycki rezydujący w Napacie, a następnie faraon - władca starożytnego Egiptu z czasów końca Trzeciego Okresu Przejściowego. Był synem króla Kaszty i królewskiej małżonki Pabatmy. Założyciel XXV dynastii kuszyckiej, w obrębie której, oprócz niego, władzę sprawowali: jego młodszy brat - Szabaka oraz synowie: Szabataka i Taharka oraz jego wnuk (lub według innych ocen -bratanek) - Tanutamon. Władzę sprawował od 746 roku p.n.e., rządząc około dwudziestu lat w Napacie, później jako król Górnego i Dolnego Egiptu, przejściowo na całym obszarze Obu Krajów, następnie jedynie w Tebaidzie i Nubii, w końcu z powrotem w Napacie.

Pié foi um rei da XXV dinastia egípcia, de origem cuchita. Em textos mais antigos, o seu nome surge como Piankhi, fruto de uma leitura errada do seu nome. Era filho de Kachta, rei que tinha iniciado a conquista núbia do Antigo Egipto. Tornou-se rei da Núbia em 747 a.C., tendo se dedicado à conquista do Egipto nos anos seguintes. Apresentando-se como campeão do deus Amon, consegue ganhar o apoio do clero deste deus em Tebas. A sua irmã, Amenirdis foi nomeada Divina Adorada de Amon.
