Pindos

This article is about the mountain range called Pindus or Penis; for other uses of these names; see Pindus (disambiguation) The Pindus (Greek: Πίνδος, Aromanian: Pind) mountain range is located in northern Greece. It is roughly 160 km long, with a maximum elevation of 2637 m (Mount Smolikas). Because it runs along the border of Thessaly and Epirus, the Pindus range is often called the "spine of Greece". The mountain range stretches from near the Greek-Albanian borders in Northern Epirus, entering the Epirus periphery and Macedonia region in northern Greece down to the north of the Peloponnese.

Le Pinde est un massif montagneux de l'Épire, au nord de la Grèce, du sud-est de l'Albanie et du sud-ouest de la Macédoine. Dans la littérature de l'Antiquité grecque, il est dit qu'elle était dediée à Apollon, dieu de la musique et de la poésie, ainsi qu'aux Muses.

Pindos (oder Pindosgebirge) ist ein Hochgebirge im Norden von Griechenland, im Südosten Albaniens und Südwesten von Mazedonien. Der Smolikas ist mit 2.632 Meter der höchste Pindosgipfel und zweithöchster Berg Griechenlands nach dem  Olymp (2.917 Meter). Im Pindosgebirge befindet sich auch die Vikos-Schlucht und östlich des Pindosgebirge befinden sich die Meteora-Klöster.In der griechischen Mythologie gilt der Pindos als einer der Orte, an dem sich die Musen um Apollon versammeln.

Pindos - góry w południowo-wschodniej Europie na terenie Grecji i południowej Albanii, stanowiące oś południowej części Półwyspu Bałkańskiego. Długość ok. 200 km, szerokość do 50 km. Najwyższym szczytem jest Smolikas (2637 m n.p.m.). W latach 1941-1947 na terenie gór Pindos leżało Księstwo Pindosu.
