Phlegyas

Phlegyas, son of Ares and Chryse, was King of the Lapiths in Greek mythology. He was the father of Ixion and Coronis, one of Apollo's lovers. While pregnant with Asclepius, Coronis fell in love with Ischys, son of Elatus. A crow informed Apollo of the affair and he sent his sister, Artemis, to kill Coronis.  Apollo rescued the baby though and gave it to the centaur Chiron to raise. Phlegyas was irate and torched the Apollonian temple at Delphi and Apollo killed him.

Dans la mythologie grecque, Phlégias ou Phlégyas (en grec ancien  / Phlegúas) est roi des Lapithes. Il passe selon les traditions pour un autochtone ou pour le fils d'Arès, et aurait engendré Coronis, la mère d'Asclépios.

Phlegyas war im griechischen Mythos der Sohn des Ares und der Chryse, Vater des Ixion und der Koronis sowie Ahnherr der Phlegyer, eines rohen Volksstammes in Böotien.Phlegyas zündete, weil Koronis von Apollon Mutter des Asklepios wurde, den Tempel des Gottes an, wurde aber dafür von dessen Pfeilen getötet und in der Unterwelt zu der Strafe verdammt, stets einen den Herabsturz drohenden Felsen über sich zu sehen.In der Asklepios-Mythologie des Isyllos von Epidauros ist Phlegyas der Vater von Aigle (=Koronis) und Grossvater des Asklepios.
