Philip II of Macedon
Philip II of Macedon (in Greek, Φίλιππος — φίλος = friend + ίππος = horse — transliterated Philippos) (382336 BC) was an ancient Greek king (basileus) of Macedon from 359 BC until his assassination. He was father of Alexander IIIPhilip III and possibly Ptolemy I Soter, the founder of the Ptolemaic dynasty.
